Line spacing?

Dejola

I am using Word 2007 and trying to create a letterhead containing my
name, address, and telephone number. After I type my name in the
center of the blank page and hit the ENTER key the cursor jumps down a
space instead of placing my address on the very next line under my
name. I've tried to use Word Help and clicked on Line Spacing, but no
matter what I do I end up with a space between my name and address.

Can someone please help?

Thanks.

At the end of the line spacing drop down click *Line spacing options*, set Line
spacing for single, click the default at the bottom of the dialogue.

Besides the line spacing, you may also want to set the paragraph spacing
after to 0 rather than the default 10 pt.

Just select the text you've typed in the address and click the No Spacing
thumbnail on the Home tab, in the Styles group. This changes the direct
formatting of each paragraph selected by setting the line spacing to single
and the paragraph spacing after to 0 pt.

The default normal paragraph style in Word 2007 (unlike earlier versions)
has inter-paragraph spacing. Use the alternative Normal without spacing
style or edit the styles to suit your requirements.
