How to get Outlook to move to next unread message after deleting

Using Outlook 2000 on a windows box. I have my inbox set
up so that new messages are displayed at the top of the
list, meaning the newest message is at the top. I read
them in chronological order, so I work my way to the top.

However, after I read a message and delete it, outlook
moves down, to a message I've already read.

How can I get it to move to the next unread message on the
list? I'd like to not have to switch to having the newest
messages arrive on the bottom.

thx

Tools>Options>E-mail Options. At the very top is a drop-down controlling
the order for opening messages after reading or deleting.
