Outlook 2003--Read and Unread Messages

J

John

When new messages arrive in Outlook the subject is in bold, meaning it is
unread. After I read it the subject line changes from bold to regular type.
BUT, sometimes after I read a message it stays bold, and even if I
right-button click and select "mark as read" it stays bold.

Any idea what's going wrong?

TIA.

It's conntected to an Exchange 2003 server along with 12 other PCs. Only
this one has this problem.

Check the sync errors, there is something wrong that its not pushing changes
back to the server. If there aren't any errors, delete the ost and have
outlook rebuild it.

Thanks Diane.

I don't mean to sound dumb, but when you say delete the ost file and have
outlook rebuild it you mean that it stays on the exchange server and just
gets reloaded on the client? I don't want to loose the messages and folders
that have been set up on this PC.

correct. when you use cached exchange mode a copy of the files are stored on
outlook (in the ost) and changes sync between outlook and server.
