How to get old-style slanted line fill in Powerpoint 2007

Hello,

I am wondering how to get the slanted-line shape fill in Powerpoint
2007. The gradient options are too 3D-ish for traditional shape
intersection and fill situations. To understand what I am talking
about, please take a look at my blog post @ http://kalkuli.blogspot.com/

Thanks
Srini

I think you're looking for pattern fills. They've been discontinued in PPT
2007. You could create your own small version of a pattern and use a texture
fill to create your own pattern of sorts.

Thanks for the tips. Ok, what genius at Microsoft decided to remove pattern
fill? The gradient and texture options are much less professional looking
and are really the only thing that looks right when printing B&W.

I know. I miss pattern fills, too.

Thanks to everyone who replied and suggested some nifty workarounds. I
concur with Steve on the omission, seems a bit odd and weird. What I
thought all along was that all these features like Shape fill etc are
common dialogs which are shared across all Office apps. Apparently
not. I wish someone takes note of this and puts this feature back. The
3D shape-fill patterns fail miserably to provide the discernment that
patterns bring to a graphic.
