how to get number series in excel 1 2 3 4 etc

DO A RUNNING SERIES, 21368 WHEN i HIGHLIGHT AND PRESS FILL DOWN SERIES i
expect 21369, 21370 and so on. thanks
 
You state what you expect; what are you getting?

Are you selecting a range first? What happens if you right-click on the
fill handle (small square at the bottom right corner of the cell) and drag?
