How does one obtain a replacement CD-ROM for a Microsoft
product. They want a PID for the product, but if it's not
installed, you can't get a PID.

I've reinstalled Win2k so many times (twice a month at
least) that I've worn out the CD-ROM.

Please respond to sanford @ jsanford.com

Thanks,
John S.

If it was a retail license and you have proof of purchase:

If it was an OEM license, you should contact the computer's
manufacturer.

Wouldn't have thought that was possible. But why do you reinstall
so often?

I experienced the same fate due to numerous crashes. I
contacted Microsoft, and the young lady I spoke to(who
wase very polite and helpful) ased me numerous questions
about the product and disk, and then took down my
information and for I think about $20.00 sent me a
replacement disk. Do not discard the original disk,
because the replacement clearly states "requires a
license"(your original disk).
