How to fix?

Hi there,

My computer was crash by something unknow,when i wanna to see the event
log,it was been murder...So i copy the SysEvent.Evt from the
\%systemRoot%\..\config\
and using Notepad to open it, but i just can see some event in the log
file.and all of it is just like disorderly char...

Did some Super Person here knows how to read that SysEvent.Evt file in
normally?

P.S.
I cann't open it by windows EventLog.

The Event Log is a binary file. You cannot read it with
notepad.exe. Why can't you open it with the Event
Viewer?

P.S. To attract the attention of the right people, it helps
using a descriptive Subject line. Yours says nothing
at all about your problem.

Well, I haven't been a "Super Person" since I switched to decaf, but
Event Log Explorer, which is freeware, can be very handy for this type
of thing: http://www.eventlogxp.com/
 
EventViewer can't open it,and Event Log Explorer also can't open it.:-(
It said can't open that file.

I just can oprn it with Notepad,and saw the file like this:
....0
When i copy the text in the notepad it can paste here.when paste just like
....0
but i can see some IP address in the Sysevent.evt file:-(

How to do that?

Your log file is either corrupted or else it was generated
by a different version of Windows than the one you're
trying to open it with. You could try dumpel.exe (Windows
Resource Kit) or dumpevt (http://www.systemtools.com/somarsoft)
to extract some records.

What is the burning need to examine its contents?

and now i just copy the sysevent.evt from my computer and i wanna to see
that file.

The address you sent it to is not genuine - I do not wish
to become a target for spammers. You can try this one
for a limited period: (e-mail address removed). Replace
both "z"s with "s"s.
 
The file you sent me is only some 650 bytes long. My
version of RAR won't decompress it - it says that its
header is corrupted. Try again, send a copy to yourself,
check its size and tell me when you think that it worked.
