*possible* slow shutdown fix

I have been able to cure my own slow shutdown problems, heres how I did it...
First I tried a lot of fixes suggested here and elsewere nothing seemed to
work , but it was suggested at http://www.aumha.org/win5/a/shtdwnxp.htm to
disable event logger to see if something being logged was responsible for the
slowdown. It worked comp s/d in about 2 seconds :) So then I reenabled the
event logger service to make a list of everything it logged in hopes that I
could narrow the problem down to what was being logged.

Now the weird part is the problem didn't return by turning event logger back
on, no errors listed, and my comp still shuts down just fine now. Some how by
disabling the event logger, rebooting, then re-enabling it the problem was
cured! I don't have a clue why, I'm no expert, but it worked for me, big
thanks to Aumha.org.

I'm interested to know if this might help others, seems to be a lot of posts
about slow shutdowns, I'm sure this isn't the "cure all" solution for
everyone but it just might work for some of you. good luck.

P.s. maybe some of the mvp's can explain why this actually worked for me?
