How to find out the name of an ip address

I have windows server 2003 with xp client.

I dont know who is using the same ip address which I have allotted to my
payroll scanner.

How do I find out the name of an ip address ?

The following command will return the DNS entry for the IP:

ping -a xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

If your payroll scanner is registered in DNS, unregister it before
running the above command.
