How to find gpo or ou in the server

Hi,

Is there a tool which I would find out what gpo or OU I have on the server.

I have number of problem which related to GPO or OU but just cannot find
where they are.

1. I have made changes to email address on the active directory but a few
minutes later, the changes were undo.
2. Server 'hosts' more then one group. e.g. I have 'domain named' a.com and
b.com on the same server. Some some people are using their email with
(e-mail address removed), some some with (e-mail address removed). For some reason, the
(e-mail address removed) people are not getting their usual email addresses.
3. when added a client to the domain, anyone logon to the newly added m/c,
cannot use WOA. I am sure this is related to GPO or OU setting.

I don't know where to look for clue to trouble shoot.

Many thanks in advance,

Rach

I'm confused. Are you just trying to find a tool that tells you what
group policies are in effect on your server, or are you trying to find
a tool that tells you every change that has been made within a certain
group policy?

If you are trying to find out which of your group policies are in
effect on the server, you need to use GPResult. If you don't know how,
just click "Start", then "Run". Type "CMD" without the quotations and
click "OK" or hit "Enter". In the command prompt, type "GPResult"
without the quotations. This will give you a list of group policies
that are in effect on your server.

If you want the result of the changes made by group policy, use the
Resultant Set of Policy Snap-in. For information on this visit this
site:

I hope this was of help

Morning RBot,

As I am very green on all this, at the time, my initial thought was it is
related to policy but what policy do I have do the server, without anything
to look into, I don't know where to start.

Thank you so much for your info and the detail steps which is of great help.
Now, at least I have something to start with. When I search on the internet,
I did find the GPResult but I didn't know how to use it and wasn't sure that
was the tool that I need.

Have a good day,

Rach

I'm not sure what the first of the message was asking, but if you are
trying to find your group policies, you need to log into your server,
click "Start", then "Run" and type "gpedit.msc" without the quotes (if
you have group policy management console installed on a remote machine,
you may do the same on while logged into that machine) Here you can
view what policies are setup and make changes as necessary.

Hi RBot,

My problem is on the AD with those whose Department set as ABC, should be in
the ABC OU and default email address as @abc.com, however for some reason
these email address has been set as the main domain (xyz.com) @xyz.com
instead of @abc.com. I have not change any settings and very green in this
area. So where should I be looking instead of going though all the GPO and
OU?

Regards,

Rach
