I am about to sell one of my older computers. Before that I would of course
want to erase all personal data from my OL file (OL 2003). Easy way would be
to just remove the PST file, but then I know that OL won't open at all if the
program cannot find the file anymore. Is there a quick fix to overcome this?

If you're selling it to someone, are you also selling the Microsoft Office
licensing? If not, remove Office. If so, provide the media and erase the PST.
The new owner would have to create a new profile for Outlook to use.

Wipe the drive (www.killdisk.com) and include the OS install media.
Let the user install whatever OS they decide which might be the one
you include *if* you choose to include one with the hardware. Or you
could do the OS install yourself and elect to format the OS partition
during that installation; however, if you have partitions other than
used by the OS, you will have to wipe/format them to get rid of your
personal data. Do NOT give the buyer a POLLUTED operating system;
i.e., they really don't want your old OS with however your configured
it and with whatever pests or misconfiguration is present there.
