The Subject says its all.

Do I need to buy a software to do Window or Screen
dump to an image file (gif, jpg, etc.)?
Or Windows XP already support this?
If yes, what and where is the *.exe file?

Thank Q very much in advance!

The subject actually doesn't "say it all" since it is unclear what you
are asking. Are you asking how to do a Print Screen? If so, press the
Print Screen button and open a graphics program - MS Paint will do -
and Edit>Paste. To capture just the active window, Print Screen + Alt.

If this isn't what you wanted to know, please post back with a better
description of your end goal.

you can press the printscreen key then paste the image into a picture editor
to save as what format you wish

Just hit the PrtScn key then open paint and paste. Then you can save it
in bmp, jpg etc.

Just use the "Shift" and "Print Screen" buttons on the key board then open
Paint or any word processor app and paste the screen shot in. You can then
save it in any formatt you need.

Hello.

Just press the PrtScn button on your keyboard, this will take a screen
capture and put it into the clipboard. Then just paste it into Paint, Word
or anything that can handle graphics. You can also press ALT+PrtScn to
capture just the focused window.

The PrntScrn key captures the screen to the clipboard. Alt+PrntScrn captures
the currently selected window. Paste (Ctrl+V) into your image editor.

Thank Q very much for all.
Yes, Screen Dump is the same as Print Screen.

But print screen is dump the whole screen.
I prefer Window Dump (print Window).

Think this way, when you do presentation in PowerPoint.
Some time you want to show what your program
look like. So you want to dump your program window into
an image file (gif, jpe, bmp, etc.).
You really don't want to print the whole screen background, right?

I know use image editor, or Paint can do the edit.
But will be nice without doing this part.

Just hit the PrtScrn (Print Screen) key, probably on the upper-right
of your keyboard. That will put a screenshot onto the clipboard.
(Ctrl+PrtScrn will take a screenshot of just the current window). Then
you can paste that image into your favorite image-processing program.
