How to create and recall Shortkeys?

I used to be able to make very useful SHORTKEYs in Word. I can't find out how to do it in XP. So I tried creating a MACRO. I can created it, but don't know how to "recall" it.

You can assign a macro to a shortcut key after the fact. See
