Shortkeys Lite equivalent?

I have used Shortkeys Lite v1.7 for several years and it has worked ok until
recently, Now its
database file is getting corrupted and is losing data. I am running NAV and
have no problems with other files.

There is a newer version but it is limited to 15 entries - less than half of
the older version.

Is there an alternative?

Basically this is a macro program e.g. I can make a shortkey entry ad1 and
point it to my street address. Ad2 could point to the city, etc. Typing ad1
into a form, say, immediately reproduces the street address - very
convenient.

Anyone know of an equivalent that can take about 30 entries?

A prog that has encryption and a password could handle securely bank
account- and credit card- numbers, SSA #s, etc. Any such beastie?

TIA

Two suggestions:

Speed typing @ www.colorpilot.com/speed-typing.html

Notetab Lite. Like all the notetab programs this allows you to define any
number of shortcuts for longer words, phrases or even letters. It's a
freeware text editor that a whole lot of other stuff as well. I liked this
program so much that I paid for the pro version and it is indispensible for
me. Get it at: www.notetab.com.

Thanks Michael.

I rebooted my box and Shortkeys found the missing entries, so the pressure
is off.
I didn't know NoteTab does that and I have a copy, though very unused.

WIll look into SpeedTyping.

Enjoy the week :)

i used to use shortkeys lite. i abandoned it when autohotkey gained the
same functionality, with no limits.

to define 'btw' to enter 'by the way':

::btw::by the way

you can just define them all in a single file... easy to copy to other
computers or edit.

get it from www.autohotkey.com

We've now discarded the concept board

(sig added by autohotkey!)

I replaced ShortKeys Lite with Allchars - see http://allchars.zwolnet.com.

It does everything SKL does and more. No limits on macro count, and
easy to add new ones. I found I needed the patch to 3.6.3 on XP Pro / SP2.
