how to create a footer object area for autolayout in powerpoint?

Hello,

I am trying to create a footer in the master slide on our template that
allows users to click to add footer text, just like the object area for
Autolayouts?

Is there a way to do this?

In a word: No.

We can't add new placeholders, unfortunately.
