How to convince WIndows Media Player I AM connected to the Internet???

Ever since Windows Media Player decided I'm not connected to the
Internet (I am - full time ADSL connection), I have been unable to use
any live media streaming source that uses WMP. WMP just tells me to
connect to the Internet and try again. So is there a way to fix this?
Thanks.
