How to connect via VPN

I have a wireless home network with one desktop and two laptops and two
printers. The desktop is wired to the router and the two laptops connects via
the wireless network. The router is wep enabled and each workstation are
independent from each other in connecting to the internet.

My question is - how do I establish a remote VPN connection to my desktop to
access my files. I 'll appreciate it very much if anybody can provide me a
step by step procedures or refer me to a website on how to establish a VPN
connection.

You do not need VPN in this scenario - just configure file sharing. See:

You can use VPN if you want, but performance will slower and you will have
to create shares anyway. You could also use Remote Desktop in XP Pro - See:
