how to click to start animated text without stopping video

I would like to play video of a speech while having the text of the speech
show on the slide. I could stack text boxes and click to start them
sequentially as that part of the speech comes up, but every time I click to
make a new text box appear, it stops the video from playing. How can I keep
the video playing continuously while being able to click to make the text
boxes appear at the desired times? Thank you for your suggestions.

You can only have the text boxes animate automatically (using With Previous).
Setting "On Click" on the rest of the effects will stop the video.
