how to change the defaults for Tools > Options > View tab?

Hi! How do I change the WORD defaults on the Tools > Options > View tab?
Currently I have to uncheck the Hidden text checkbox every time I open a
document - very annoying.

If Word is not preserving your settings, you may have a damaged Data key in
the Registry (see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/MissingMenusEtc.htm),
or an add-in may be changing the settings when you start Word. But note that
if a document contains TC or XE fields, Word will always open it with Hidden
text displayed.
