Hidden Text Viewing Option Re-enabled after turned off

Hello. I have an indexed report. When I open it, I see all the {XE} markers.
I went to Tools/Options/View and unchecked the Hidden Text checkbox. I save
the changes, close the document. When I reopen the document, the Hidden Text
checkbox is checked again. How do I tell Word, "Hey, I just unchecked this
box, now please leave it unchecked." Many thanx.

Word has a tendency to want to show you XE fields when they're present. You
just have to keep clicking the Show/Hide ¶ button to hide them.
