How to change Profile storage to a different volume?

Hi, Does anyone know how to store all my user data (i.e.
profile) on a different partition during install? I want
my C:\ to be nothing but applications and stuff that I
can always re-install if I lose it but my D:\ (a
different drive altogether) to have all my data. This way
I just need to worry about backing up my D:\ without
worrying about losing stuff...

Anyone know how to do this when I install a fresh copy of
XP on my new drive? Thanks,
DC

There is no clean way to move the entire "Documents and Settings" folder -
it wants to live on the system partition.

However, you can redirect some of the "guts" of the folder to another
partition - i.e. your Documents/Pictures/Music, Favorites, Desktop, Start
Menu, etc. You can do this with TweakUI.

Download TweakUI from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

After you've got it installed, launch it and expand "My Computer \ Special
Folders"
