How add the Chinese language pack. What I am trying to do is view a Chinese
page but I want to install the language pack that translates it to English? I
am trying to view this page http://www.mydrivers.com/ but want to install the
language pack to view it in English. The window that asked me to install the
language pack doesn’t pop up.

Hi,

As far as I know, language pack is not for viewing web pages in another
language, it is to provide for changing the user interface to another
language, and to provide additional input methods.

To view web pages in another language, the web site needs to provide another
language version of the web pages, or there are some utilities might be
available from the net that translate words by words of the pages.

Hope this helps.

Well, you have to ask the site for why would they ask you to install
language pack? This is the first time that I've heard any web site asking
doing so.

But I don't think you'll be getting any answer from here.

The simple truth is, if the site does not prepare multi-language contents,
there is no way for any browser to automatically translate contents into
another language - although I truly hope that can happen because we (have no
association with MS) have multi-language sites.

Don't take my words for it. Just go to any large company's site and see if
there is a selection bar for "location" or icons for different country's
flag. When a user selected a different location, or a different country's
flag, he'll be redirected to pages written in the local language.

That's how it works.

And finally, as far as I know, most foreign versions of Windows, especially
Asian versions, are built with support of English but not vice versa. That
means even if you're using a foreign version of Windows, you could still
read and write English even in IE, but again, not vice versa.

So there is no need to install English language pack to read English for
whatever reasons.

Hope this helps and good luck.
