How to change internet sharing default settings

Fernando Ronci

Hi,

I'd like to know if it's possible to turn off DHCP of Windows 2000 Pro
internet sharing, as well as assign a static IP address range different from
the default 192.168.0.x range.
For example, on Windows 98 SE Internet Connection Sharing, DHCP can be
turned off by installing DHCP_OFF.inf, and the default IP address range can
be modified as per the guidelines on KB article 230148, but I couldn't find
any how-to's (neither on MS KB nor on Google) to turn off DHCP or assign
static IP addresses to the Windows 2000 internet sharing service.

I'll highly appreciate someone tell me how this is done on Windows 2000 Pro.

Thank you,
Fernando Ronci

Not sure it's possible. Given how inexpensive home gateway/firewall/NAT/DHCP
devices are, I'd ditch the idea of using ICS entirely and get one - a lot
more reliable, too, most likely.
