How to bypass logon without admin rights

A

Arturo Rivera

I have administration rights. During the process of
switching my computer from a LAN environment to a Group
environment, it went on standby mode, prompting for a
password to logon. Perhaps because I failed to restart
the machine immediately after the switch, now it's not
accepting my password.
Any advice on how to bypass this required login?
Your help will be much appreciated.

Hi,

Did you mean that u made ur XP machine join the domain ???
If that is the case then When logon you have two types of Logon
When you press the CTRL+ALT+DEL you need to provide the following

1. Domain logon : You need to provide Domain User Name , Password and
Domain Name

2. Local Logon : You need to provide Local User Name, Password and computer
name (This Computer).
You find "<Machine Name>(This Computer)"
option only for Local Logon.

The user name used to login to Domain is different from user name used to
logon to the Local Machine. The domain logon is primarily used to access
resources and files on the Network (Domain) and also on your Local computer.
The Local logon is primarily used to access resources and files on your
Local computer.

Thank you, Venkat.

Actually, I switched from a domain to a group
environment. When I press the CTRL+ALT+DEL I'm being
prompted to enter a user name and a password. For some
reason, it's not accepting my password. I'm begining to
think I'll have to do a system reinstall and loose my
stored files.
By the way, I couldn't access the site you provided. It
appears to be a restricted site.

Thanks again for responding.
