I have Windows XP system. I want to back up my files. I go to start,
assessaries, system tools, and in system tools, there should be a selection
for BACKUP, but there is nothing there. How can I back up my files otherwise.

It doesn't get installed by default. It is on the xp disk. You just have to
install it manually.

Do you want to backup on your internal harddrive? If you do, use the Restore
feature under System Tools and create a manual Restore Point. If you want
to backup to an external peripheral such as a ZIP drive, use/buy Norton's
Ghost
Image Writer. XP Home Edition has a Backup feature you can use, but you must
first install it from the XP CD, here's how:

go to start, assessaries, system tools, and then to securities, which will
open an assistant for your backup. these are translations from the german, so
find the corresponding. german:zubehör,systemprogramms, securities, just
beneath defragmentations.
