How To Assign Specific Folder For User Profile

G

Guest

Currently, when I login to Windows XP, I would use the login profile stored
in C:\Documents and Settings\jdoe

What can I do, so that when I login, I would use the login profile stored in
C:\Documents and Settings\SpecialFolder\jdoe instead?

Thanks,

John W

AFAIK you can't. Why would you want to?

For the past 3 years, when I login, the sys admin set me up to use the
profile in
C:\Documents and Settings\SpecialFolder\jdoe

That sys admin is no longer available.

Today, I had my CD-ROM upgraded, and for some reason, my login now uses the
profile in C:\Documents and Settings\jdoe. The new sys admin said he didnt
touch anything. And he does not know how to point to the profile in
C:\Documents and Settings\SpecialFolder\jdoe

Thus, I can no longer access the shortcuts and settings that I have used and
saved for the past 3 years.

Thanks Ramesh, I forgot about that method.

Thanks Ramesh,

The Registry editing of the profile path is the solution to the problem
