Why is it that in powerpoint you have so much more control over the timing
etc. of animation settings? Am I missing something?

Because PowerPoint is PowerPoint, but how does this related to using FP?

I think he is asking because PP has so much more control
over the animations then FP does. Seeings he really didn't
tell us what settings he has used (if any) then I won't tell
hem that he should use notepad to open up animate.js.

Yes you're missing the fact you're a Frontpage group not Powerpoint.
