How to add COM port to 2003 RRAS server

Paul Landry

Hi all,
I have a Win2003 SP1 RRAS server acting as VPN server for my network.
I've added a modem to the server's COM port, so I can provide dial-in access
to remote users.
Looking at the mmc, I can't find a way to add the COM port to the RRAS
server.
Anybody know how add the COM port to an already configured RRAS system.
I can do registry work, if needed.

TIA,

Paul Landry

Go to the RRAS mmc and see the Ports properties, the modem must be visible
by itself. If it is not visible then you might need to reconfigure RRAS to
allow VPN and dial-up connections.

You can setup the modem properties to accept inbound connections.

Thanks Puja,
I was hoping to avoid a reconfigure, but it looks like that's what I have to
do.
