How to add an accent to a French name

For instance, the last name Dore. By placing an accent above the "e" gives
the correct pronunciation.
 
Depending on which way you want the accent to go, you can hold down the Ctrl
key and press the apostrophe key beside the ; semi-colon, or the ` next to
the figure 1 (UK keyboard) release the Ctrl and then press the letter. You
can also go the the Insert | Symbol menu and will find the letters there with
the accent already applied. There are also unicode numbers that work, and the
Character Map on the Start | Programs | Accessories | System Tools. Hope this
