How set XP so files deleted off USB flash drive go into recycle bin?

C

Chet

Is it possible to change one of the XP settings or registry so that if
I delete a file from a USB flash drive it will go into the recycle bin
instead of just being permanently deleted? I'd like some way to
retrieve mistakenly deleted files. (The recycle bin could be on C or
the USB flash card if that matters.)

Thanks,
Chet

One way would be to make the USB flash drive a "local" drive but this
would not be very practical. A more sensible way would be ues the flash
drive for what it was actually designed, such as short-term storage of
files for their transport between computers instead of being a working
drive or whatever. Moreover, flash drives should not be considered as
a place for long-term storage of files or even as a backup drive. And
there should be a backup file somewhere so that accidental deletion has
little consequence.
