(Sorry, if there is two many post I made on this subject. I have been
having trouble posting through my news server. So there could be at
least 3 duplicate post.)

How Oems can be bought and used maybe decide in court

I was reading about Microsoft suing edirectSoftware for selling pirated
version.

Edirect claims the sell Genuine Windows Software even use the logos.

Also, on Edirect home page it refers to cases that shows this point.
http://www.edirectsoftware.com/oem.php

I know a lot of people debate this claim. I don't want to get in that
debate.

We finally will find out if kurttrail, Alias and others are correct or
incorrect.

If you have a bitch about MS products, don't use them.

That's not always that easy. For example:

1. Perhaps your company uses an OS you dont particularly like for your
desktop in the office.

2. Perhaps your company only uses a specific OS on the laptops they
provide you and you dont have a choice.

And this is important, why??

And apparently this is Microsoft's attitude as well.

It was also the attitude Ma Bell had up until the moment she was
throttled by the Justice Department.

You would think that Microsoft would've learned from its own throttling,
but apparently it has not.

"Corporate responsibility" does not come up when one googles
"Microsoft." Nor does Microsoft come up much in the hits for "corporate
responsibility" except as a negative example.

So then I googled Microsoft and ethics, and I came up with this:

http://www.kegel.com/corporate_ethics.html

It fits right in with the "if you have a bitch..." attitude.

True, but in both cases the type of licensing would be immaterial. The
only time a type of license and it's availability would be of any
concern for an individual would be when that license is intended for use
on his/her personal systems. And the OS used by the individual's
employer is thus irrelevant to the choice made for use on the home
computer(s). (If the individual is expected/required to conduct his/her
employer's business from home, then the employer can provide a PC and OS
for that purpose.)
