I have installed all the security patches to date on my XP Pro
system.

Is SP2 mainly a collection of patches since SP1?

Will any extra things in SP2 in addition to my patches which be
available for download?

Nobody can answer this yet, as MS hasn't said exactly what SP2 will
consist of.

It's a fair bet that it will be more than just a collection of all the
hotfixes since SP1. I've read of improvements in the built-in ICF and
a few other nice upgrades, but whether that's true, or whether MS will
include them is yet to be decided.

I'm sure it will be (note WILL BE - it is not released for general
public use yet!) much more than a collection of hotfixes. Take my advice
and do NOT apply the tech release of it. Just stick with SP1 and any of
the _critical_ updates (no driver updates!) that apply to your system.
Let the other bozos test it first :)

Why do you say "no driver updates"?

Because they will almost always be grossly out of date. The newest driver
updates ares on the mfg's homepages
