how many physicall processors are there

When managing Windows 2000/2003 Servers how can you tell
how many physical processors you have in a system (besides
physically opening up the box). If a server has a
processor with Intel Hyper Threading the number of
processors shows up as double the number of physical
processors. Not that this is a bad thing but how can you
tell what "really" exists in your server. If you look in
Device Manager or WinMSD it too will report what Task
Manager Graphically shows you - double the number of
actual processors.

Thanks in advance.

Hi

This one I would think:

Intel® Processor Frequency ID Utility
http://support.intel.com/support/processors/tools/frequencyid/sb/CS-007619.htm

<quote>
The CPUID Data Tab can be used to identify processors as far back as
the Pentium® processor, and will report the following information:

(snip)
* Which processor was tested in a multiprocessor system, and total
number of processors (Windows NT, Windows XP, and Windows*2000 only)
