How many data columns can be made as a saved specs when importing.

I am trying to import a data set into MS Access from a text data file. There
are 109 and columns that need to be in the structure. It is a fixed width
flat file. I have already a saved specifications for 106 columns for a
similar flat text file which works fine, adding 3 more columns does not save
or work when adding.

Is there a limit to adding columns in an MS Access DB? If so, what is the
limit? If the limit is greater tha 109 columns, is there a solution to
saving the extra columns without re-creating the whole DB strcuture from
scratch?

I don't know about a limit to the number of input columns defined (check
Access HELP for "specifications").

You could import the whole big row as a single field, then use queries to
parse it to your permanent table structure. (or some portion thereof)

I hope your tables in Access don't have 109 columns!
