Hi all,

Could you tell me how Outlook 2007 verifies new/old emails?

For instance, there are 100 emails in my gmail, and 80 are downloaded, when
i reinstall the windows system and Outlook 2007, the Outlook 2007 will just
download the last 20 emails, and won't download the 80, why? And I remember
Outlook 2003 will download all after reinstallation.

And how can I make Outlook 2007 download all the 80 old emails again?

Thanks!

You don't need to - the emails are all in your pst file, which, if you save
before re-install Windows and Office 2007, you just open in Outlook.

Outlook doesn't do this since it can't do this. Lets think about this
logically; you reinstalled Windows, thus had to reinstall Outlook and also
recreated your mail profile since there was nothing on the machine anymore.
This means that there is no way that Outlook was tracking this unless you
restored some data and settings.
