how do you stop xp from updating?

Dearest Newsgroup,

How do you stop xp from updating? Sometimes it slows down
the internet performance of the computer.

Hope you guys can help me with it.

Go to Control Panel, open System, go to the Automatic Updates tab and remove
the check from the "Keep my computer up to date" option, click apply and ok.
