Trying to repair a friends Internet Explorer (getting familiar with XP,
except for the odd "damn now where did they hide that?")

HI Vikki,

Repair is only an option once IE has been upgraded. As there is no update to
the version that comes with WinXP, you must reinstall instead. Copy/paste
this command into a start/run prompt and click ok:

rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132
%windir%\Inf\ie.inf
