How do you get a program to open in the same spot on the desktop every
time it's started? I want X-Chat to open in the top left corner of the
desktop, but it always opens in the bottom left and that makes the
connect button hidden and I have to move the program to get it
started. It there a program that does this or is there a way within
Windows to do this.

Thank you for your assistance.

You *could* write to the author and ask him to add this to the
program. It's trivial.

Hold down the Ctrl-key when you click the x in the upper-right corner to
close the window.

That did not work on my shortcut to Solitaire <sigh>

It should work.
Additional info: this doesn't work for maximized windows. If you want it to
be maximized you'll have to stretch it by hand to fill the screen first.
