How do you link text within Word so it appears in the header?

Hi,

I am trying to see if there is a way I can create a template in Word (a
memo) and have the header on the second page "pick up", or link to the
Subject line. Does anyone know how to do this?

Hi Suzanne,
Although this is a rather "old" post I wanted to ask you the following based
on this question. I have used your StyleRef field as you mentioned and got
the result I wanted. But we have at the moment a lot of existing documents
that need to be changed where we want to include the position title in the
2nd page header of each document. Is there a way that we can automate this
for the older documents. For the new documents I'll save this in the template.
Thanks for your valuable cooperation.

Batch processing similar documents is relatively straightforward but some
basic information is necessary. What *exactly* do you want to put in the
second page header? What is in the header already? How is the new header
content related to the existing header? How are the different headers
configured across the doument. Are the documents all based on the same
template and which Word version is involved?

Hi Graham,
We are working on job descriptions and want to put the job title that is
mentioned on the first page to repeat in the 2nd page header. On the 1st page
header we have our logo, company name and the title of the document which is
Job Description. On the 2nd page header the job title was typed manually. On
some older documents it was left blank. We want to link the 2nd page header
with the job title so that when the title is changed in a reorganization we
have to change it only in one place. We are using Word 2000.
Thanks, Lupe

Can you send me a sample document to the link on my web site home page?
