How do you expand hyperlink bars in frontpage?

When I type in what I want my hyperlink to be it is to long for the box it
puts it in. Can someone please tell me how to expand the link bars so that
all the name of the page to go to can fit.

What box are you referring to?
If you are using a theme with navigation buttons(graphic), then you need to:

1. Make the graphic longer
2. Use a smaller font
3. Shorten the text

You can make changes to your theme by right selecting it and "customize".
