How do you do this?

OK-- I wanted to post the copyright symbol (little c surrounded by a circle)
in a newsgroup post.

I was able to get the symbol in WORD via the insert symbol command.

I copied and pasted it and it looked fine.

But when the post appeared, all I saw was an "a" with a tilde above it.

Any ideas?

I'll try it again here:
ã

I just pasted it and it looks fine and I'm sending it now

My guess is that you're inserting it using the Symbol font, and are
inserting character #227. When that character is displayed in a regular text
font, you get ã. Try inserting the copyright symbol from the (normal text)
font in Word, instead (character 169). It *should*) then appear correctly in
Word and when displayed here, as ©. I guess I'll see for sure when I look at
this message after posting.

Of course, you could always use (c).
