The indexing service is only really useful in Office Typing pools and
the like, where there is a need to search file a lot on the basis of
text contained - it speeds this up. In other setups, it slows the
system in general, so your best course is to turn it off. In Control
Panel - Admin tools - Services, look for 'Indexing service' and double
click. Click the stop button, then in Startup Type, click 'Disabled'
and Apply. OK out, and it should not bother you again
