How do i go about deleting a photo that i imported from
the net and set as a desktop item.

right click on desktop> properties> desktop. It will be
the last one on the list, choose another one, apply> ok.

If you want to actually delete the picture file (don't want the girlfriend
finding that naked lady photo, do you?) it probably was stored in the
c:\windows directory. look for it as a .bmp file.

How do i go about deleting a photo that i imported from
the net and set as a desktop item.

Depends on just what you mean by 'set as a desktop item'.

If you just have an icon of it on the desktop, right click and delete

If it is a 'Web page item' - Control Panel - Display - Desktop, click
Customise and on the Web page highlight it and delete

If you have set at Wallpaper, go to that Desktop page and select a
different background (wallpaper) and Apply. Then look for the file with
the photo and delete it - Probably in
C:\windows\web\wallpaper
