How do I?

Hello,
You know how folders/files are yellow if you create them on the
desktop or say in My Documents I want to change their colour, is there
a simple, easy way for me to achive this?

Colour, no. Different icon, yes.

Click the desired folder with the "right-mouse-button", select "properties".

Click "customize", "change icon" and pick another one.

You could google for some alternative icon sets and so bring a little
more variety onto your desktop or simply download an icon-editor like
microangelo to edit some of the existing ones.
