Hello,
I should no how to do this and don't.
I will give an example.
I use Amazon a lot and would like to have their logo as a shortcut on my
desktop.
Creating a shortcut isn't the problem but all I end up with is a large "e"
with a title under it, my desktop is full of those.
Is there a simple way I can achive want I want and use this method for other
sites such as E-bay?
Thankyou

Right click on the Amazon logo and select "Save Picture As" and save
it to a convenient folder on your hard drive.

Open the saved image in a program that will let you convert it to an
icon file. Irfanview will do this. If you haven't got it download it
here. It is free:-

http://www.irfanview.com/

Open the picture in Irfanview and then save it as a .ico file

Go to the shortcut on your desktop, right click and select
"Properties"

Click on "Change Icon" button

Click "Browse" and navigate to the folder where you have stored the
icon file and select it.

Click "OK" and "OK"

Your Amazon icon should appear as the icon for your shortcut.

Hello Stubbo,
I posted my question elsewhere on this forum.

Between you and another member the way my PC desktop looks has changed big
time in the last couple of days and for the better and I am very gratefull
for your reply.

I downloaded the software and I was away, simple, easy.

While I'm on a roll could I pose you another question I have asked it before
but got nowhere.

You know how folders/files are yellow if you create them on the desktop or
say in My Documents I want to change their colour, is there an easy way for
me to achive this?
Again my thanks to you for your eairler answer and
happy holidays.

It would be best to pose your new question in a new thread and new
subject line if you expect any response!!

But a google search might help you
