How Do I...?

Hey, it's me again. I hope you all don't mind another question, but I haven't had any luck anywhere else, so I thought I would try here. I don't know how to do what I have in mind. My web site is going to be about my favorite TV shows and will be done like a scrapbook. So I thought when somebody opens the site, they should see a little animation of a person walking in the room, sitting down in a comfortable chair, and turning on a television from a side view. It could then turn to a full front view of the TV screen, screen flickering like it does when it is coming on, the TV filling up the computer screen as my home page comes into view until my home page is all you see. I thought I could have "Program Listings" on the home page with the "channels" in an LCD type font, if I can find one. Then I thought when a visitor "changes channels" or clicks on links, instead of the regular pointing hand, it could be a hand holding a remote. And within the site itself, I am going to have everything in my own handwriting because I thought people tend to write a lot of personal stuff in scrapbooks. And also I wouldn't have to think of what fonts to use for which article. Please explain what to do in plain English as I don't understand all the technical stuff. Thank you for any help

Quite an undertaking.

You should learn Flash or Swish for the fantasy entry scene.

Handwriting font is going to be a nightmare, if you really want it that way you will have to create an image of whatever it is you're going to write...of course this won't be html so if you want hyperlinks they will have to be hotspots.

If the image of your handwritten page is large it will increase your download time.

I suspect you will be making some compromises on this journey.

My advice is start simple...solve one aspect at a time. Swish will take you a couple/three weeks to learn.

What image editing program are you using now?

Not that I want to discourage her, but it really would be a daunting task even for an advanced intermediate FP user.

It would be a difficult and expensive task to a professional programmer.

This is for Rob (Crash Gordon)
I tried to answer your question regarding my image editing program using the e-mail address ([email protected]) in your post, but it came back to me. I hope you still see it doing it this way. I would like to use Paint Shop Pro 8, but I can't seem to get the trial version installed. It comes up saying "Error 1324. The path Paint Shop Pro 8 contains an invalid character." And I did what the company said to do and it didn't work. So right how I just have Microsoft Photo Editor or Paint. Unless you count what comes with my scanner.----- Crash Gordon wrote: ----

When you email me through the ng...you have to remove the word SPAM from my email addr...or whatever I decide to add to my address..I keep changing it.

Paint Shop Pro is good... invalid character in path? check the path string and post it here we'll tell ya what's invalid about it...or email me.

If you email me put in the subject line: NEWSGROUP ... or I may bounce it.
