How do I update Movie Maker

I am running sp2 on Windows Media Center 2002. My Movie Maker exe file gives
me version 01 of the program (dated 8/10/04). I can't find a download and
I'm told it should have updated with SP2 or subsequently as SP2 updated.

Can anybody tell me a way to update my Movie Maker program (short of buying
Vista). Thanks.

There is no such version, check with the menu item '?'. The current version
2.1 of "moviemk.exe" should show up as version 2.1.4026.0, former versions
may show up as version 2.0.3312.0 (MM 2.0) or 1.2.2541.1 (MM 1.2). Check
also with the file properties of "moviemk.exe" located in the Program Files
folder.

Correct. The "moviemk.exe" file (MM 2.1) is dated August 4, 2004 on this
machine (WinXP Pro SP2), however, there is no Media Center edition around.
