How do I uninstal Norton Anti-Virus

I downloaded this off my Windows XP and its caused me
nothing but problems. I have tried un-instaling it but
its still there but I no longer have access to it. All I
want to do is get access to online shopping - Help?
Please respond in very basic terms with clear

Not sure what you mean by "downloaded it off my Windows XP" ... did it
come with your computer as installed by the computer manufacturer, or
did you download a copy from the Internet. If the latter, are you sure
it is legitimate as I wasn't aware that this software is made available
for download.

Use the application in Control Panel called "Add or Remove Programs".
If you did this, were there any error messages? Did it look like it was
un-installed, but still there? If you did un-install it, what is it
which makes you think it's still there?

You may wish to refer to Norton's web site (www.symantec.com) for better
instructions for how to remove their product.

I uninstalled Norton myself recently and opted for a

McAfee package instead. If you are trying to uninstall
through your Add/Remove program utility in your Control
Panel and receiving errors, you can go to the Symantec
website. Search for "deinstall Norton anti-virus" in the
Symantec web site. You will see articles in their
website that instruct you how to deinstall if your
Add/Remove program utility isn't deinstalling the program.
