how do i type in and edit a template?

I can download the templates, but then when I close the full view version, I
can't see the words or graphics that are supposed to be there. How do I work
with a template and edit and type in it?

From where are you downloading them? Templates should be saved in your
template folder and then you use File>New and select the template that you
want to use to create the document.

Or if it has been saved elsewhere, you could just double-click the template's
icon to create a new document based on the template.
