how do I turn off mapi spooler on outlook xp

I have two messages that seem to be stuck in the outbox of my outlook xp
They probably are too big but I can' delete, move, or send any other mail.
When I try to delete them it says the mapi spooler has started. What should
I do?

File->Work Offline. Completely close Outlook. Restart and delete the
items. File->uncheck Work Offline. Completely close Outlook and then
restart.

I have exactly the same problem, but when I try to find 'File-> Work Offline'
there is no such option.

I am running with Outlook 2000.

That is because my answer was for the OPs question. Outlook 2000 is a different animal and a good reason to never try hijacking a thread. Start your own thread to get specific answers to your problems.

As a newcommer to this I am not sure if I have already posted this, but just
in case??
I have the same situation that I have an e-mail stuck with the same message,
but when I try to go to 'File-> Work Offline' there is no offline option. I
am running Outlook 2000.
